On June 3, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced adjustments to 16 value-based care (VBC) models to account for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic public health emergency (PHE) that began in March 2020. The goal is to account for changes in health care delivery and related additional costs, and to give the participating provider organizations more time to transition VBC.
