CMS Rescinds Approval Of Texas Medicaid Waiver Extension
On April 16, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rescinded the 10-year extension of Texas’ Medicaid 1115 Waiver that the previous administration approved on January 15, 2021. The current Texas Healthcare Transformation and Quality Improvement Program (THTQIP) waiver and its uncompensated care pool will continue through September 30, 2022. The terms and conditions in effect as of October 13, 2020, will remain in effect. The Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program will be phased out in September 2021.
