CMS Starts Accepting State Applications For Medicaid ‘Innovation In Behavioral Health’ Model
On June 17, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a funding opportunity seeking state applications to participate in the Medicaid Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model that will test a “No Wrong Door” approach to providing behavioral and physical health services. This approach is intended to close gaps between physical and behavioral health and support referrals to services to address health-related social needs (HRSNs). A key goal is supporting care continuation regardless of where the individual accesses care.
