CMS To Hold Medicare Advantage Plans Responsible For Actions Of Third-Party Marketers
For the Medicare Advantage 2023 plan year, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) plans to strengthen its oversight of third-party marketers for Medicare Advantage plans. CMS intends to hold the health plans accountable for detecting and preventing potentially misleading marketing tactics by third-party marketing organizations. These provisions of the rule were released on May 9, 2022, and are effective on June 28, 2022.
