Commercially Insured Individuals Wait An Average Of 50 Days For First Neurologist Appointment
Individuals covered by employer-sponsored or other commercial health insurance plans wait an average of 50 days for an initial neurologist appointment, according to a recent study. Wait times were affected by demographics, insurance coverage, geographic location, and the individual’s eventual neurological diagnosis. The number of neurologists available per person in each area appeared to have little impact on appointment wait times.
