Community Counseling Center Of Chicago Averts Closure, Joins Cook County Medicaid Managed Care Plan
On May 15, 2015, Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) announced that it had entered an agreement with the Cook County, Illinois Health and Hospitals System Medicaid managed care plan, CountyCare, which averted C4’s previously announced intention to close. In April 2015, C4 had notified state lawmakers that it was closing by the end of May 2015. In that notice, C4 cited financial problems that included difficulties in billing clients and collecting payment for $1.5 million in services delivered since November 2014 due to problems with a new electronic health records system.
