Connecticut Child Care Subsidy Program Has 3,400 Families On Wait List

There are about 3,400 Connecticut families who are waiting for a slot in the state’s subsidized child care program called Care4Kids. The state opened the waiting list on August 1, 2016. The program currently serves 12,000 families who receive child care subsidies ranging from $38 to $320 per week. It has an annual budget of $124 million, inclusive of state and federal funding.
