Connecticut Testing Measurement Based Care For Children’s Behavioral Health Services

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) and several provider organizations in the state are testing the use of measurement-based care (MBC) for children’s behavioral health services. MBC is defined as routine use of symptom or outcome measures for collaborative decision-making and treatment planning.

Several of the current MBC initiatives in the state were profiled in an issue brief by The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI). After describing the initiatives and the benefits of MBC, the authors recommended that the state nurture future MBC initiatives. The current initiatives include the following:
