D.C. Medicaid Adds Intensive Care Coordination To Community-Based Mobile Crisis Services
On September 8, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved a Medicaid state plan amendment (SPA) to allow the District of Columbia to add intensive care coordination (ICC) to its community-based mobile crisis services. The ICC services will be for children and youth in a behavioral health crisis. The SPA also updates the district's reimbursement methodology for Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) from a 15-minute unit to a 30-day unit. These changes went into effect retroactively for August 1, 2023.
