Delaware Medicaid 1115 Waiver Approval Includes New Addiction Treatment & Postpartum Support
On May 17, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved an extension of Delaware’s Medicaid Section 1115 Diamond State Health Plan demonstration through December 31, 2028. The approval allows the state to continue existing waiver provisions and implement several new programs, one of which is contingency management services for beneficiaries with stimulant use disorder or opioid use disorder (OUD). Another key new program will pilot expanded postpartum support in terms of diapers and home delivered meals.
