Denver At 30% Of House1000 Goal To Reduce Unsheltered Homelessness By The End Of 2023
As of mid-November 2023, the City of Denver had reached nearly 30% of its House1000 initiative to house at least 1,000 unsheltered homeless people by the end of 2023. The city’s Homeless Resolution Operations Center believes the city is on track to meet the goal.
When he took office in July 2023, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston declared an emergency related to homelessness in the city, and launched House1000. On November 13, 2023, the Denver City Council extended the homelessness emergency declaration through the end of December 2023.
The House1000 initiative is estimated to cost $48.6 million . . .
