Department Of Justice Finds Maine Violated ADA By Institutionalizing Children With Disabilities
On June 22, 2022, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) notified the state of Maine that it is violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by unnecessarily institutionalizing and segregating children with mental health and developmental disabilities. The investigation was completed in response to a complaint filed by Disability Rights Maine (DRM).
