Diabetes, Obesity & Hypertension Rising In U.S. Adults Ages 20 To 44

The prevalence rates of diabetes, obesity and hypertension all increased among U.S. adults ages 20 to 44 years between 2009 and 2020. All three conditions are risk factors for later life cardiovascular disease.

Diabetes prevalence increased from 3.0% in 2009 to 4.1% in 2020.
Obesity prevalence increased from 32.7% in 2009 to 40.9% in 2020.
Hypertension increased from 9.3% in 2009 to 11.5% in 2020.
