Direct Service Worker Turnover Averages 47.8% In Six States

The turnover ratio among direct service workers (DSW) employed by aging and disability (AD) service provider organizations in six states averaged 47.8% in 2023. The statistic is an average based on data provided by organizations participating in the National Core Indicators (NCI) State of the Workforce Survey for state Aging and Physical Disabilities service systems (NCI SoTW AD). Survey responses were submitted by 1,232 provider organizations; the responses reflected workforce data from January 1, through December 31, 2023.
