Disability Rights Maryland Sues State For Housing Foster Youth With Disabilities In Hospitals Without Medical Necessity Due To Lack Of Placement Options
On May 30, 2023, Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) and Venable LLP sued the Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) and Maryland Department of Health (MDH) for failing to find timely placements for children with disabilities housed in a hospital or an emergency department because they cannot return home without additional services.
