DC Renews 1115 Medicaid Waiver Demonstration & Plans ‘Whole Person Care’ Transformation

The District of Columbia (DC) submitted a Medicaid 1115 waiver renewal to continue its Behavioral Health Transformation demonstration and add new initiatives to cover Medicaid services for incarcerated adults and youth for up to 90-days before release and to cover health-related social needs (HRSNs). The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) accepted public comments through July 24, 2024. If approved, the District also intends to rename the demonstration as Whole-Person Care Transformation.
