DOJ Opens $200+ Million In Grants For Reentry, SUD & Behavioral Health Criminal Justice Programs

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), opened five fiscal year 2026 grant opportunities totaling more than $211 million for criminal justice programs focused on reentry, substance use disorder treatment, crisis response, behavioral health services, education, and employment. Eligible applicants vary by program and include state, local, and tribal governments, as well as non-profit, faith-based, educational, and other organizations for certain opportunities. The first application deadlines begin September 24, 2026.
