EEOC Says COVID-19 Can Be A Disability Under Federal Law
On December 14, 2021, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) determined that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be a disability under federal law. The EEOC updated its technical assistance for COVID-19 to add a new section clarifying the circumstances under which COVID-19 may be considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act.
