Emergency Visits By Canadian Youth For Mental Health & Addiction Crisis Up 32% Between 2006 & 2011
Emergency department usage rates among Canadian youth and young adults between the ages of 10 and 24 for mental health and addiction treatment rose by 32.5% between 2006 and 2011. The rate increased from 14.6 visits per 1,000 population in 2006 to 19.3 per 1,000 in 2011.
