Entirely Parent-Based Treatment As Effective As Individual CBT For Youth Anxiety Disorder Treatment
An entirely parent-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders is as effective as individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The parent-based treatment is called Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Children whose parents participated in 12 sessions of SPACE were as likely to overcome their anxiety disorder as children who participated in 12 sessions of CBT.
