Investing in mental health interventions worldwide could reduce the direct and indirect disability burden of mental health disorders by 40% in 2050, according to an analysis by McKinsey Health Institute. For this analysis, mental health disorders also included substance use disorders. The direct burden of mental health disorders encompasses the number of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).
