FDA Approves Simtriyo As ADHD Medication
On July 24, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a new type of medication for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The medication, called Simtriyo® (centanafadine) and developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Otsuka), is the first and only approved norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin reuptake inhibitor (NDSRI) for ADHD and introduces a new treatment approach for the condition. It is expected to be commercially available later in 2026 following scheduling by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
