The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is implementing the state’s Family First Prevention Plan after receiving federal approvals. The plan is intended to support families and prevent circumstances that lead to child maltreatment. It provides steps for intervening when maltreatment has been identified to ensure that children and youth remain safely in their homes or with kinship caregivers whenever possible.
