Federal Funding For Money Follows The Person Demonstration Extended Through 2023

Federal funding for the Money Follows the Person (MFP) demonstration has been extended through 2023. The extension was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, which was signed on December 27, 2020. The Act authorized extending the MFP demonstration and appropriated additional funding for 2021 through 2023. The Act implemented new eligibility criteria that went into effect on January 26, 2021. The new criteria reduces the number of days a person must be in an institution before they become eligible to enroll in the MFP from the previous 90 days to 60 days.
