Feds Approve New Jersey Community Care Medicaid Waiver Renewal, Expansion Of I/DD Services

On March 31, 2017, the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that the Division of Developmental Disabilities’ (DDD) Community Care Waiver (CCW) renewal received federal approval, which will allow the state to expand services to adults age 21 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The renewal is effective through June 30, 2021.

The number of estimated average monthly number of consumers served through the waiver is expected to increase by 25%, from 8,950 as of November 2016 to 11,300 during fiscal year 2018. The proposed fiscal year 2018 budget includes $89.7 million . . .
