Feds End Minimum Staffing Rule For Nursing Services For Long-Term Care Facilities
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) repealed provisions of its minimum staffing rules issued in 2024 for nursing services for long-term care facilities. HHS stated the provisions disproportionately burdened facilities, especially those serving rural and Tribal communities. With this repeal, there will no longer be a federal minimum staffing requirement for nursing services for long-term care facilities.
