Feds To Release Guidance To Help States Better Plan For MCO Oversight Of Psychotropic Medications For Children In Foster Care

The federal government is planning to release guidance to help states better plan for managed care organization (MCO) oversight of psychotropic medications for children in foster care. The plans were noted in a five-state review by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) of psychotropic oversight policies and an examination of documentation for a sample of foster children prescribed psychotropic medications.
