Of the approximately 3,065 adult board and care homes operating in Los Angeles County, California about 750, or 24.5%, serve or are willing to serve people on public benefits, those living with mental illness, or those who have been homeless. These facilities have an estimated total licensed bed capacity of 25,000 beds to serve all consumers.
