Florida APD Moves To Force Immediate Closure Of Carlton Palms Educational Center
On April 17, 2018, the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) filed an administrative complaint against Carlton Palms Educational Center to revoke its license and force transition all facility residents. APD filed the complaint after the Florida Department of Children and Families verified findings of abuse and neglect against Carlton Palms residents. The complaint outlines 10 violations. The facility’s owner, Bellwether Behavioral Health, will be fined $10,000, which is the maximum allowed by Florida law.
