Florida Corrections To Provide More In-Prison Addiction Treatment
The Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) is shifting its policies—and its contracts—to provide more addiction treatment services during incarceration. The DOC has two open procurements to put the plan into action. One procurement seeks a vendor to provide in-prison addiction treatment. This contract expands what had previously been available during incarceration. The other procurement affects the DOC’s next Community Release Center contracts by paring down the level of addiction treatment to be provided to offenders on community supervision, and emphasizing work release.
