Florida Expands CORE Addiction Recovery Program To 17 More Counties
The state of Florida is expanding the Coordinated Opioid Response (CORE) network for addiction treatment from 12 counties to 29. CORE connects people who have an opioid overdose to medical treatment, medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), care coordination, and peer navigators. The expansion will be funded by $26 million in opioid settlement funds.
CORE is coordinated through the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Families, and the Agency for Health Care Administration. The model was piloted in Palm Beach County starting in 2020. In 2022 it was expanded in two phases to 12 counties . . .
