Florida Freezes Autism Therapist Enrollment In Miami-Dade & Broward Counties, Citing Medicaid Fraud
On May 14, 2018, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) implemented a six-month moratorium on enrolling additional behavior analysts in Miami-Dade and Broward counties due to concerns about Medicaid fraud in that region of the state. The Florida Medicaid behavior analysis service is for child Medicaid beneficiaries with significant behavioral issues (for example, children with autism who injure themselves or others); the service is usually delivered in the child's home.
