Florida Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care Program Reduces Proportion Of Consumers Living In Nursing Centers

After Florida implemented its statewide Medicaid managed care long-term care (SMMC-LTC) program in 2014, the proportion of enrollees living in a nursing center declined from 54.8% in July 2014, to 50.8% in July 2016. During the same period, the total number of SMMC-LTC enrollees increased by 2.4%, from 83,272 enrollees in July 2014 to 85,263 enrollees in 2015. The total number SMMC-LTC nursing home residents increased by 2.7%, from 45,681 in July 2014 to 46,899 in July 2016.
