Florida Medicaid To Expand The Behavioral Health & Supportive Housing Assistance Pilot, Move ABA To Managed Care
On November 24, 2024, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) submitted a Medicaid waiver amendment to expand its Behavioral Health and Supportive Housing Assistance Pilot to two additional regions. The state also seeks to move applied behavioral analysis (ABA) services for youth under age 21 from the fee-for-service system to managed care. The goal is to facilitate close coordination of ABA with other services covered by the state’s managed care plans such as physical therapy, speech-language therapy, and early intervention services.
