Florida Ordered To Amend Medicaid Program To Prevent Institutionalization Of Children With Complex Needs
On July 14, 2023, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida ordered the state to amend its Medicaid program to prevent housing children with complex medical needs in nursing homes. As a result, the state will begin a transition planning process that must be completed by September 1, 2023, for children currently housed in pediatric nursing facilities.
