Florida To Expand Jail-Based Opioid MAT Program Services To New Regions
On November 3, 2023, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) released a request for applications (DCF RFA 2324 028) to identify counties and behavioral health provider organizations ready to implement jail-based programs for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction in jails throughout the state. Applications are due by January 8, 2024, and awards are anticipated by January 29, 2024. Through this expansion, DCF seeks to reduce relapse rates among incarcerated individuals, reduce criminal recidivism, and to contribute to continuity of care.
