Food Insecurity Associated With 41% Increased Risk Of Developing Incident Cardiovascular Disease

Young adults experiencing food insecurity have a 41% greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease and experiencing a heart attack or stroke incident in midlife. The risk among those with food insecurity was elevated even after accounting for demographic and socioeconomic factors. Food insecurity is defined as struggling to get enough nutritious food to stay healthy.
