Former Foster Youth Represent 0.1% Of Medicaid Beneficiaries In 2023

Across 46 states and the District of Columbia, at least 112,000 former foster youth ages 18 to 26 were enrolled in Medicaid during 2023. These individuals comprised about 0.1% of all 91.7 million Medicaid beneficiaries that year. These foster youth beneficiaries were enrolled in the Former Foster Care Children (FFCC) Medicaid eligibility group for at least one month in 2023.
