Fort Worth To Launch Pilot Housing Program To Reduce Chronic Homelessness

On March 19, 2024, the City Council of Fort Worth, Texas, approved nearly $1.1 million in funding for a pilot program in seven targeted areas of the city to reduce chronic homelessness and homelessness among people with serious mental illness (SMI). The pilot is slated to begin on May 1, 2024, and run for 17 months. It will offer low barrier housing and voluntary case management to referred individuals. Case management services will be provided by My Health My Resources of Tarrant County (MHMR).
