Gaps Narrowed From 2019 To 2021 For Education, Community Employment, Wages & Poverty Rates Between People With & Without Disabilities

Americans with disabilities fared well between 2019 and 2021, according to the narrowing of the "gaps" in key indicators between people with and without disabilities in the areas of community education, employment, wages, and poverty rates. During this period, the number of people with disabilities increased by 2.9%, from 43.2 million in 2019 to nearly 44.5 million in 2021. The share of the U.S. population with disabilities increased from 13.2% (of the 327.1 million population in 2019) to 13.5% (of the 330.6 million population in 2021).
