Georgia To Expand Community-Based Crisis Centers During 2015
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is in the process of building community-based capacity to comply with a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and on February 28, 2014, announced plans to build community-based services during fiscal year 2014 and 2015. Since 2010 when the department entered into the ADA Settlement Agreement, $60.6 million in new funding has been allocated to fund a total of 750 new waivers to help individuals with developmental disabilities in state hospitals transition . . .
