Georgia Governor Limits I/DD Waiver Expansion To 100 Slots Despite Legislative Funding For 900
Following sustained advocacy from families and disability organizations across the state, Georgia’s legislature passed a bipartisan budget this session that would have allowed 900 individuals to move off the waiting list and into funded home- and community-based services (HCBS). However, Governor Brian Kemp subsequently directed the relevant state agency to use the appropriated funds for just 100 waiver slots.
