Georgia Medicaid Finalizes MCO Contracts With Amerigroup, Centene, Wellcare, & CareSource

The Georgia Medicaid program finalized four managed care contracts in November 2016 that go into effect on July 1, 2017. The awards were announced in 2015, but delayed due to a protest. The contracts were awarded to incumbents Amerigroup Georgia, Peach State Health Plan Inc. (Centene), and WellCare, as well as a new organization, CareSource Georgia. The managed care organizations (MCOs) will provide services for the Georgia Families Care Management Organization (CMO) program under five-year contracts. The previous Georgia Families contracts were held by Amerigroup Georgia, Centene, and WellCare.
