Global Cases Of Chronic Kidney Disease More Than Doubled Between 1990 & 2023, Reaching 788 Million
The number of chronic kidney disease (CKD) cases worldwide among adults age 20 and older more than doubled between 1990 and 2023, according to a recent study. Globally, the number of cases increased from 378 million to 788 million. To translate advances in CKD treatment, a better understanding of appropriate screening and implementation programs is needed, the study stated.
