GLP-1 Use For Weight Loss Hits Record High, Rising From 3% In 2024 To 11% In 2026
Use of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications for weight loss among U.S. adults has climbed to a record high, according to a recent Gallup survey. The share of adults currently taking a GLP-1 medication for weight loss reached 11% in 2026, up from 3% in 2024. Looking at lifetime use, 15% of adults reported having taken a GLP-1 medication for weight loss at some point, up from 6% in 2024. Awareness of GLP-1 medications also increased, with 91% of Americans reporting familiarity with the drugs in 2026, compared with 80% in 2024.
