HCBS Recipients With I/DD Have A 3.6 To 4.8 Times Higher COVID Mortality Risk Compared To Peers Without I/DD
Medicaid home- and community-based service (HCBS) recipients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) have between 3.6 and 4.8 times the mortality risk from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as people in the same age group without I/DD. Specifically, a person with an intellectual disability has 3.6 times the risk of dying of COVID-19 as a person of the same age with none of the risk factors.
