Home Health Agencies Offering Telehealth Decreased 19% Since COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Ended
The number of home health agencies (HHAs) offering telehealth services declined by 19% by 2024, after the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), in May 2023, according to a survey of 791 HHAs. The researchers concluded that the future of telehealth among HHAs will depend on information about the cost-effectiveness of telehealth, and on Medicare reimbursement policies surrounding the use of telehealth.
