Home Health Spending Projected To Hit $141.5 Billion In 2023 & Accelerate Through 2031
In 2023, home health spending is projected to reach $141.5 billion, up 7.5% from 2022 spending of $131.5 billion, according to the projected National Health Expenditure (NHE) through 2031. The pace of home health spending is projected to increase between 5.5% and 8.3% annually through 2031, when home health costs are projected to reach $250.6 billion. During the same period, spending on nursing care facilities and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) is projected to rise by 4.0% to 4.8%, from $201.4 billion in 2023 to $283.3 billion in 2031.
