Kentucky To Launch Pilot Foster Care Behavioral Health Screening Initiative
In mid-2016, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) plans to launch a pilot initiative in Fayette, Boyd, and surrounding counties, called Project Safespace, to provide behavioral health screenings for children up to age 18 who are entering foster care due to behavioral health issues. Project Safespace is funded by a $2.5 million, five-year federal Title IV-E waiver awarded in 2013 by the U.S. Administration on Children, Youth and Families.
