HUD Ends Focus On ‘Housing First’ In Favor Of Transitional Housing

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced policy reforms and changes to Continuum of Care (CoC) housing grants that will redirect the majority of funding to transitional housing and supportive services, and end the previous focus on the “Housing First” model. No more than 30% of a CoC’s annual renewal funding can be used to fund permanent housing projects.
